Octavia 2015 Storm Update

Here are a few of the updates from the storm response so far. Will update when new information comes available.

The @NCEmergency Operations Center has been working tirelessly since before Winter Storm #Octavia2015 hit yesterday; well done. #ncwx

@PatMcCroryNC declared a State of Emergency, EO #66, yesterday & is directing the appropriate personnel to handle the response #ncwx

@NCSHP answering calls for help statewide w/ assistance from @NCWildlife @NCDOT. Great inter-agency cooperation to keep #NC safe. #ncwx

@NCDOT is prepared to coordinate chainsaw crews, and has been monitoring power outages/clearing roads #ncwx #Octavia2015 

As of 9 am, ~62,000 power outages. @dukeenergy, @dominion, & @NCelectriccoop are working around the clock to get power back on #ncwx 

thx @NCNationalGuard. They have 42 personnel activated across central & eastern NC to respond to storm. #ncwx #AlwaysReady #CitizenSoldier

Currently, 12 County Emergency Operations Centers activated, and 5 shelters open housing  77 folks across state. #ncwx #Octavia2015

Our airports are working to resume regular traffic. Most operating at delays right now. @rdu #ncwx
