Lewis Sworn In to 3rd Term
North Carolina General Assembly Office of Rep. David R. Lewis 16 West Jones Street Raleigh, NC 27601 RALEIGH: Representative David R. Lewis, of Dunn, was sworn in as a Member of the North Carolina House of Representatives during opening ceremonies at the General Assembly held Wednesday, January 24. The Oath of Office was administered by North Carolina Court of Appeals Judge James A. Wynn, Jr. Among Rep. Lewis first votes was the election of House Officers and establishing temporary Rules. The House elected Rep. Joe Hackney, a Democrat from Orange County, its Speaker and Rep. William Wainwright, a Democrat from Craven County, it Speaker Pro Tempore. Rep. Lewis said, I am very excited and honored to be a part of this General Assembly. I look forward to working with my colleagues to address North Carolinas pressing issues including infrastructure improvements, strengthening education, curbing illegal immigration, and reigning in wasteful spending. Rep. Lewis, a Republican, represents the 53rd District comprised of Harnett County.
