Bullies

It is amazing how quite and still the House Floor is tonight. The tension feels as thick as I have ever felt it before.

Vote passes 59 to 57. Vote again on Tuesday.

Tense tonight

It is amazing how quite and still the House Floor is tonight. The tension feels as thick as I have ever felt it before.

Bullies

Rep. Glazier is passionate that without creating special classes, kids can't be identified and protected.

Rep. Stam now speaks that a Bill that protects all children would pass unanimously.

Rep. Dollar just said, "You shall not bully people" can be communicated without explaining sexual orientation

Rep. Cotham just spoke eloquently for the Bill. She took, I'm sure, a jab at the Repubs saying their stance was partisan and was to advance partisan positions. Unfortunately, partisan politics is a part of this Bill. But, in my opinion, it is the Dems that have made it so. Nobody is opposed to protecting kids. Some of us believe that if you protect "all" kids, you protect all kids.

Rep. Dollar is now speaking on the Bill. He points out that the "adults" in schools should stop bullies. "Bullies" bully because they can get away with it.

Dollar: Stop the bullies, don't "classify the victims."
