Crime Stoeppers Tips MUST be kept confidential

I was very disappointed to read in today's N&O that the defense attorneys for the thugs videotaped using Eve Carson's ATM card and accused of her horrific murder are seeking to view the Crime Stoppers tips used to help solve the crime. I know lawyers are paid (in this case, I bet by the State) to defend their clients but to seek to unravel and put in jeopardy such a vital crime stopping tool is a hit below the belt of decency.

I don't know why some in our society continue to think that those who break our laws have more rights than those who try and uphold them.
